Apple Crumble

Best part of the apple cake only.
Prepared in 20 mins, another 20 mins for baking.
Best with ice cream and whipped cream.

Ingredients

    Apple base

  • 1 kg Apples
  • some lime juice
  • 1 pkt vanilla sugar
  • 1/2 tbsp cinnamon
  • Crumble topping

  • 160 g flour
  • 100 g brown sugar
  • 100 g butter
  • a pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 190°C (top/bottom heat).
  2. Peel, core and slice the apples. Mix with lime juice, vanilla sugar and cinnamon.
  3. Grease a baking dish and spread the apple mixture evenly in it.
  4. For the crumble topping, mix flour, brown sugar, butter and salt with your hands until crumbly.
  5. Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the apples.
  6. Bake for about 20 minutes until the topping is golden brown.

Tip: Top with chopped almonds for extra crunch.
