Pizza Dough

The outcome of this strongly depends on your oven. A pizza stone or steel helps to get a crispy crust. Recipe stolen from an Italian, passionate Italian recipe enthusiast.

Ingredients

  • 500 g flour, type 405 or '00'
  • 300 ml water, lukewarm
  • 7 g fresh yeast
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp salt

Instructions

  1. Dissolve the yeast in lukewarm water, you can add some sugar.
  2. Add flour, olive oil, and salt.
  3. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours until it has doubled in size.
  5. Form into 4 equal balls, cover, and let rest for another 6h.
  6. Roll out the dough balls on a floured surface (thin).
  7. Preheat your oven to the highest temperature (usually around 250°C or 480°F).
